Comparison · Agriportance vs GooClear

The Agriportance alternative built for traders and offtakers

If Agriportance covers your German biomethane compliance but not the trading desk, the offtaker audit trail or the EU-wide registry bridges, GooClear is the lateral move. Same RED III and ISCC-EU rigor — plus the parts that monetise the certified molecules.

Built for the producer–trader–offtaker triangle, not just the producer.

What changes when you switch

We respect Agriportance as the leading German producer-side tool. GooClear was designed for the rest of the value chain — and for producers selling beyond the German registry.

Why traders and offtakers move to GooClear

Agriportance built one of the most respected tools for German biomethane producers. The gap most of our trader and offtaker customers describe is not in producer-side compliance — it's in everything that happens after the GoO is minted. You can run a clean mass balance in Agriportance and still spend a week per cross-border trade chasing the AIB hub, the Spanish gdogas.es and the email chain with the buyer's certifier.

GooClear was built to close that gap. The mass-balance ledger is comparable in rigor — hash-chained, ISCC-EU and RED III aligned, period-locked. On top of it sits a marketplace, a settlement layer and pre-built bridges to gdogas.es (Spain), the GSE registry (Italy) and the AIB hub for cross-border transfers. For an offtaker buying biomethane to meet a CSRD target, the same data exports as an audit-grade Scope-1/Scope-2 evidence pack.

Migration without the rebuild

Migrations from Agriportance are surprisingly clean because the underlying RED III data model is shared. The last 12 months of certified events can typically be exported as CSV, mapped to our schema and replayed into the ledger inside a week. Auditors signed off on the historical Agriportance position remain valid — we treat the migration cutover as a period close, with a hash-pinned snapshot on both sides.

  • Week 1 — Export last 12 months from Agriportance, map to GooClear schema, replay into ledger.
  • Week 2 — Cutover: hash-pin the closing position. From here forward, all new events land in GooClear.
  • Week 3 — Wire GoO marketplace, registry bridges and settlement.
  • Week 4 — Run a dry audit against the new ledger with our biomethane specialists.

When Agriportance is the right answer

We're not trying to displace Agriportance for every customer. If you are a single German biomethane producer with a producer-side workflow and no trading desk, Agriportance is a fine choice and the migration costs probably won't be worth it. The break-even is sharply on our side as soon as you start trading GoOs cross-border, sourcing for industrial offtakers with CSRD obligations, or running a multi-country group where registries diverge.

FAQ — Agriportance alternative

  • Can I import my Agriportance data into GooClear?

Yes. Agriportance supports CSV export of certified events; we map it to the GooClear schema and replay it into the ledger. Most migrations complete in a week.

  • Will my existing certification body accept the new ledger?

Yes. The auditable export GooClear produces follows the ISCC-EU and REDcert templates. We have walked customers through certification audits on the new ledger inside the same calendar year as the migration.

  • Does GooClear cover the producer-side as well as Agriportance?

Yes. The producer-side workflow — feedstock onboarding, GHG calculation, mass balance, voluntary-scheme exports — is feature-equivalent. The differentiation is on the trader/offtaker side and on multi-country coverage.

  • Is GooClear available in German?

Yes. The UI, dictionaries and customer support are available in English, Spanish and German.

  • What does pricing look like compared to Agriportance?

We price per producer plant or per traded TWh, with discounts for multi-plant groups and trader desks. Concrete comparison once you share plant count and offtake structure.

  • Can I run both side-by-side during migration?

Yes. We support a 30-day parallel-run period where new events land in GooClear and the Agriportance ledger remains read-only as the historical reference.
